Dr. Tamra Walthall

Dr. Tamra Walthall is the principal veterinarian, and owner of La Vega Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Walthall has been active in both her local and veterinary community. She served on the Board of Trustees for the La Vega ISD for 18 years, and as a Director the Texas Association School Boards (TASB) for 4 years.  She served on the board of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA) for many years. She was elected Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA) President in 2022. She is also a former President of the Texas Academy of Veterinary Practice (TAVP). Dr. Walthall also works with the Waco Humane Society providing spays and neutered to recently adopted animals. Dr. Walthall’s husband, Roy, was a Government Instructor for McLennan Community College for 27 years. He passed away in 2023. Their daughter, Telly, is married to Kyle Ramsey. She teaches History at University High school in Waco. In 2022, they had a daughter named Winifred Their son, Rydell is a Transportation Engineer working on his PhD at the University of Texas in Austin. He is married to Audrey deFelice, an aerospace engineer working on the Jim Webb Telescope. They live in Baltimore, MD Dr Walthall enjoys gardening including aquaponics and raising fish. Her pride and joy is her koi pond




Dr. Sharon Folsom

Dr. Folsom grew up in Mississippi. Since graduating from the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997, she has practiced in Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, & Mississippi before moving to Texas.



Melody Berend

Melody is our practice manager. Melody began working at LVVC in January of 1999 as lead veterinary technician. Prior to her years at LVVC she worked at Wise County Animal Clinic and Mellina Animal Hospital as a veterinary technician. Melody spent 2 years away from LVVC to work for the Texas Department Of State Health Services as a Public Health Technician for Zoonosis Control. She then returned as the Practice Manager. Melody loves animals and enjoys in helping provide care to all your animals. She is also an avid barrel racer and break-a-way roper and loves training horses and children. Melody is married to Jeremy that is a welder and helps with all their animals. Melody is a mother of two wonderful children. Calder, her son who is very involved in rodeo and team roping and has given Melody a very amazing daughter in law, Skyler. Skyler as well loves animals and loves to barrel race and rope and hauls with Melody and LJ. Lindsey Jo (LJ) who is her daughter, that most of you clients are familiar with since Lindsey Jo spent a few of her first months at the clinic. Lindsey Jo is following in her mom and brothers footsteps and has became a very well known barrel racer with many big achievements. They have recently added to their family and Melody now has an amazing grand daughter, Whitlee, that already loves horses.They have 4 corgies and several horses that are also part of her family.Inline image



Debbie Eckstrom

Debbie has been in the veterinary field for over 10 years now. She started with kennel work and moved her way to the front desk and then to become a veterinary assistant. she has worked for rescue groups, shelters and veterinarians over the years. In 2023 Debbie became a CVA. She has a lot of on the job training with some of the best technicians and veterinarians in the field and as well as online classes.



Jess

Jess started working at La Vega Veterinary Clinic in April 2019. She is our quarterback, she answer phones, enters charts, and so much more. Before she worked at La Vega Veterinary Clinic she worked at the animal shelter for 14 years. She has 7 fur babies, Tuxs, Biscuits, George, Lambert, Grayly, and Loki. Jess loves the number 13 and black cats.



Connie

Connie first came to the clinic in 2016, taking a 2 year hiatus in 2018 to raise her youngest son William, returning in 2022. Her oldest son Jeffrey is set to graduate in 2026. She is married to husband whom she met in 2011. She grew up spending all her free time on her family’s farm and loves horses. Besides riding she especially enjoyed when the veterinarian would visit, cementing her want to be in the animal field at a young age. She started upfront so many of you know her face and often colorful hair, she is now upstairs handing her duties as receptionist. Many times you may have heard her child William in the background as he accompanies her to work, less frequently as he is starting school, we are glad to be a family friendly business.



Johanne Perez Paniagua

My name is Johanne Perez Paniagua, born and raised here in Waco, tx. I’m currently studying at the MCC Veterinary technician program. Always happy to continue working to what I love.Inline image



Terri Cowan Sedigas

Terri attended school, and had lived and worked in Central Texas most of her life. She was worked at local animal hospitals for 45 plus years and we are happy to have her as part of our clinic now. She loves animal and working with them and their families.



Alyssa Bodin

Hi, my name is Alyssa Bodin. I grew up in Robinson. I moved to Houston for a couple of years and decided to return home. I worked as a receptionist for another vet clinic in 2019 and fell in love with it. When I moved back to Waco, I knew I would love get back in the doors of working with animals, as I have a passion for animals. I have a kitten, Church and he most definitely keeps me on my toes. I’m grateful for my job and the opportunity to be of service where I am.



Julianne Campos

Born in Waco, I grew up on my grandfather’s cattle farm and have lived in the Waco area my whole life. I’ve always had a passion for animals. I love spending my time with family, friends, and animals. I also love going to concerts in my spare time.
